FOIRE DE CHATOU

The roots of this renowned fair run deep in French heritage, combining a tradition of fine food with a passion for beautiful objects.

Its origins lie in the Foire aux Jambons, a ham fair dating back to the Middle Ages — and possibly even to Gallo-Roman times — alongside which dealers in bric-a-brac, antique furniture and objects of character gradually began to establish themselves.

It was the meeting of these two centuries-old traditions that gave rise to the largest antiques and flea market fair in France, where furniture, curiosities and collectable pieces continue to preserve the spirit of a trade whose origins reach back nearly a thousand years.
