Giulio Lazzotti coffee table by Mageia, Italy 1981
Very quirky and interesting sculptural coffee table designed by architect Giulio Lazzotti and produced by Mageia in Italy, 1981. This table is in good condition and is made of a black painted steel base with an etched grindstone top, with in the middle a centerpoint.
This Postmodern design resembles the relationship between ancient masonry skills and applying these traditions in modern forms. Like some other Italian designers, Lazzotti in particular has an innovative approach towards experimenting with form, especially in stone and marble, and applying these mainly into tables. This table could also be used outdoors, as the stone top is a natural product. This table would look great in numerous interior styles, as it looks a bit brutalistic, modern, but also very natural at the same time
